Small hollow organs:

-Ureter: Transitional epithelium.

-Vas deferens: Pseudostratified columnar ciliated epithelium with sterocilia

   OR thick musculosa.

-Fallopian tube: Highly folded mucosa OR s.col. partially ciliated epithelium.

Large hollow organs:

- Oesophagus dog: stratified squamous epith. / mucous glands in submucosa.

-Oesophagus cat: stratified squamous epith. / thick muscularis mucosa.

-Vagina: stratified squamous epith. + No muscularis mucosa & no mucous

               glands in submucosa.

-Urinary bladder: transitional epith. OR thick musculosa

-Trachea: pseudostratified columnar ciliated epith. with goblet cells OR

                  c-shaped cartilage.

-Large intestine: crypts only OR many goblet cells.

-Uterus: simple columnar epith. OR endometrial glands.

-Ileum: villi & crypts OR Peyer’s patches (lymphoid follicles on one side).

-Appendix rabbit: inverted Y-shaped crypts OR lymphoid follicles in

                                lamina propria

Oval sections:

-Suprarenal: arched columnar cells of zona glomerulosa just under the capsule

-Ovary: ovarian follicles.

Lobulated organs:

-Liver pig: hexagonal mass of liver tissue OR central veins

-Pituitary gland: Pars distalis ,cleft then pars nervosa with nerve fibers.

-Kidney: Cortex contais renal corpuscles )

-Prostate: Prostatic urethra OR prostatic acini between fibromuscular septa

-Parotid gland: Lobulated with thick CT septa OR serous acini OR

                            intralobular ducts.

-Pancreas: Islet of Langerhans OR pancreatic acini (basal basophilia and apica acidophila). 

Spongy slides:

-Adult lung: lung alveoli OR bronchi OR bronchioles.

-Submandibular dog: mucous acini.with vaculated cytoplasm

-Placenta: T.S. of chorionic villi OR maternal blood

Elongated slides:

- Fundus: crowded fundic glands OR short gastric pits OR pit to gland ratio

                 =1:3 or 1:4

- Pylorus:  thick muscle layer OR pit to gland ratio is 1:1

- Gastro-oesophageal junction: stratified squamous epithelium change into

                 simple columnar epithelium OR appearance of gastric glands

- Pyloro-duodenal junction: appearance of intestinal villi OR appearance of

                                             Brunner’s glands in duodenal submucosa

-Thick skin: thick layer of keratin

-Thin skin: thin layer of keratin OR hair follicles.

Sections covered with skin:

-Lactating mammary gland: covered with skin with acini filled with

                                                 vacuolated milk secretion

-Penis: covered with skin with corpus spongiosum with penile urethra OR two

            corpora cavernosa.


Compound structures:

- Duodenum and pancreas: villi in  duodenum + islets in pancreas.

- Thyroid and parathyroid: thyroid follicles OR colloid in thyroid + chief

                                                cells in parathyroid.

-Testis and epididymis: seminiferous tubules in testis + ps.str. col. Epith.with

                                         stereocilia in epididymis.

-Spermatic cord: thick musculosa in vas + cremastric muscle + plexus of veins-.Liver and gall bladder: central veins OR hapatocytes OR portal tract in liver +             simple columnar epithelium in gall bladder.

Sections covered with stratified squamous epithelium:

-Lip: labial glands OR orbicularis oris muscle.

-Eyelid: tarsal gland OR orbicularis occuli muscle.

-Tongue human: filiform papillae

-Tongue rabbit: foliate papillae OR taste buds.
